Amazon celebrates its 30th birthday
To mark Amazon’s 30th anniversary, we take a look at how the company has transformed itself from a bookseller to a technology giant.
The company was founded by Jeff Bezos in Seattle in 1994 and went public in 1997. Initially, it only offered books, followed by music and videos. Amazon then entered the international market in 1998.
Amazon soon became an all-rounder, a marketplace that offers a wide range of products in various countries and continues to expand.
Amazon has transformed itself through the use of AI and cloud technologies and now offers a variety of services that go far beyond the sale of books.
