Comment: Remazing Corona-Keyword Study
In the last months we have observed how quickly search behavior and buying interests of users on Amazon can shift and change.
Especially with regard to the pandemic, search queries on Amazon have shown exciting changes. In order to capture and map these changes, we conducted a comprehensive study over six markets and 28 weeks, from the beginning of February to mid-July. In the process, the most important movements were compiled and compared to the reported new infections. For example, the amount of corona-related search terms in the top 100 in the USA was three times higher than in Germany.
While gloves were often searched for in Italy and Spain, users in Germany asked remarkably often for toilet paper (up to 50% share of the top 10 search terms).
