Celebrating Remazians: Honouring Milestones and Embracing Team Spirit

At Remazing, we believe in recognising and celebrating the achievements of our team members throughout the year. From work anniversaries to personalised tokens of appreciation, we foster a culture of recognition, appreciation and togetherness. In this article, we will take a closer look at how we implement this.

Celebrating Remazians: Recognizing Milestones and Creating Positive Energy

It is important to us that we value every milestone of our team members. For example, in 2022, we celebrated the work anniversaries of over 60 Remazians who have been with us for 1 to 5 years. As a young company, we believe in acknowledging our team’s commitment early on and regularly, rather than waiting for the big 10th-anniversary milestone. It’s our way of showing how grateful we are to have such amazing individuals as part of our team, whilst also acting by one of our principles, “Create Positive Energy”.

Diverse Ways to Celebrate Anniversaries

At Remazing, we understand that one size doesn’t fit all when it comes to celebrating milestones. That’s why, over the years, we’ve come up with a range of personalised tokens of appreciation that reflect the unique contributions and personalities of our team members. From custom emojis and dedicated Amazon pages to personalised pin boards and a magic QR code on a hoodie leading to an online hall of fame, we have a variety of celebrations. 

And the best part? We’ve made sure that all these celebrations are accessible digitally, so no matter where our team members are located, they can join in the fun and celebrate together. It’s all about fostering a sense of unity and shared experiences, no matter the distance.

After two years with us, team members receive an individualised GIF representing a trait, saying or behaviour that is very unique to them. The GIF can then be used by everyone on Slack and is a hugely popular feature within our team.

Another team favourite is the personal Amazon page team members get for their third anniversary at Remazing. We collect input from the team and create a page containing “USPs” and gallery images of the respective team member.  

After being with us for four years, team members get a dedicated pin board containing all memories, highlights and jokes connected to their work and beyond.

Moreover, we expanded our Merch collection to include a very special hoodie, which has a QR code linking to an online “Hall of Fame” where all prior milestones are accessible. This one remains for our 5 years’ anniversaries or other exceptional occasions. Additionally, for the 5-year anniversary, Remazing makes a donation of 200€ to a cause or organisation of the team member’s choice.

Individual Birthday Celebrations

Not only anniversaries, but also birthdays, are important opportunities to celebrate each team member and make them feel special. In 2022 alone, we created 91 meme birthday cards with personalised text and memes. These are always created using the input we receive from team members about their favourite stories, quirks and memories about the person.

Is it Worth the Effort? Absolutely!

Next to the celebrations of individual milestones, we also ensure that other shared achievements are celebrated, such as reaching internal goals, helping other Remazians,  winning new clients, or having new team members join Remazing. We won’t deny that organizing these celebrations takes some hard work. But is it worth it? You bet! We believe that showing appreciation and recognition is crucial in creating a positive work environment where everyone can thrive. These celebrations may just be a small part of our efforts, but they have a lasting impact on our company culture. 

Not only that, but working on the celebrations fosters collaboration between team members that do not work together daily. For instance, our People & Culture team works closely with our Content, Creation, or Tech team to implement each of the celebrations and make everything come together.
