Advertising on Prime Video: 5 billion dollars in revenue expected
Amazon has already announced the placement of advertising on Prime Video. Now there are initial estimates of how lucrative this is likely to be.
- Amazon is expected to sell $3 billion in video advertising this year and earn an additional $1.8 billion from Prime subscribers who pay the fee to avoid advertising.
- An estimated 70% of Prime subscribers will choose to watch ads instead of paying the fee.
- Advertising will launch in North America on January 29 and internationally on February 5.

A consumer report from AliExpress reveals new insights regarding the European e-commerce market and consumer behavior.
- AliExpress surveyed over 4,000 shoppers about their online shopping habits in France, Germany, Spain and the UK towards the end of 2023.
- 50% of consumers have used an online marketplace in the last 3 months.
- Social commerce is most popular among 16-24-year-olds (26%), compared to 55-year-olds (8%) who prefer to visit retailers’ websites directly.
